China Century Monument - Marking The Turn Of The Millennium

To remember this glorious moment, Beijing built the China Century Monument, which is also known as the China Millennium Monument, on an 11 acre plot of land in the heart of the city.

This iconic construct can essentially be divided in to three main parts, which are the Bronze Thoroughfare, the Holy Fire Square and the World Art Museum. Arguably the most attractive feature of the monument is the revolving gradient altar platform upon which various performances are staged. The World Art Museum is housed in the main section of the monument and covers a total area of approximately 20,000 square meters. The Permanent Exhibition Hall of the World Art Museum showcases a variety of great works from master artists from around the world.

The Bronze Thoroughfare is a unique walkway upon which you will be able to see inscriptions from history. The Holy Fire Square is also worth a visit as you explore the remainder of the monument.
