Chipper Shredders Guide
Basic yard work can be a difficult task at time, especially if your yard includes more then one or two trees, which is why many Americans invest in chipper shredders. This machine is designed to take in small branches, twigs and bark pieces as well as other common yard debris. The machine uses internal blades which are ran by a power motor inside, and proceeds to shred up its contents into small wood chips, which are typically put into an attached yard bag. These wood chips can then be used for mulch, in compost piles and/or disposed of properly. This comes in quite handy when you have a yard full of stray twigs, pieces of an unruly bush and other things of this nature, as the machine provides you with a quick and easy way to dispose of all of this material and clean up your yard quickly. Chipper shredders are extremely convenient, however they can be potentially dangerous and you must always read the instructions and safety manual before use. This is a hazardous power machine and has the potential to remove fingers and even limbs if the person using this tool is not practicing safe operations. Always remember to wear safety goggles and heavy duty work gloves when using what is also known as a "chipper". Children should never be allowed to operate or go closely near this machine, and if they insist on helping you can have them go around your yard collecting the twigs for you and you alone to put into the machine. Going to your local home improvement center or hardware store would be your best bet for finding chipper shredders, comparing prices and making the decision on which one to purchase. They of course come in a selection of sizes, voltages, speeds, colors and models; an employee would be more then willing to help you decipher which one is a good fit for your individual needs. Attachments are another optional purchase, and may include an edger for trimming up your landscaping. These extra products are not necessary in the function of the chipper, but may be helpful and can always be purchased at a later date. If you are not in the financial position to purchase a wood chipping machine, then you will be happy to know you can also rent these at your local rental center. This is obviously a less expensive solution and may be a better idea if you are doing a one time only project.
