Chocolate Recipe: Healthy Snack Recipe For Your Kids

For those of you out there who have children, you know how necessary it's to have

healthy snacks around the house so that when they're going to school or coming back from a friend's home they can get something on the go and have the nutrition that they have to strive. Whether you want a healthy breakfast recipe or any other healthy snack recipe, here are a few great ideas to help you get started.

Chocolate Crepes

One healthy snack recipe which your children are certain to love is chocolate crepes. You could whip this up for them for breakfast, or just keep them in the fridge so the children can nosh on them whenever they get hungry.

They're simple to make, and this healthy snack recipe is one that no kid is going to turn down. For the filling, you need cup semisweet chocolate chips, cup confectioner's sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons creme de cacao, cup light corn syrup, 2 tablespoons water, 1 quart chocolate ice cream, teaspoon vanilla, and cup pecans chopped. For the crepes themselves you'll need cup flour, 1 tablespoon cocoa, 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 dash salt, cup milk, teaspoon almond extract, 1 egg, 2 teaspoons melted butter, and oil.

You begin by making the crepes, and to get this done you should combine the flour, sugar, cocoa, and salt. Add the milk and almond extract in next, and beat until completely smooth. And then you want to add in the egg and beat well, stir in butter next, and then leave in the refrigerator for about two hours.

Now to prepare the filling for this healthy snack recipe you just combine the chocolate chips and butter in the top of a double boiler, and bring water to a boil. You reduce the heat to low and cook, ensuring to stir often therefore it does not stick. Then you need to remove from heat, add in the confectioner's sugar, creme de cacao, corn syrup, water, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

The next tip in this healthy snack recipe is to spoon about 3 tablespoons of the ice cream down the center of each crepe, and you would like to fold the sides over and place seam side on serving dishes for the nicest presentation. Spoon some of the warm chocolate sauce over each, and sprinkle with pecans. You and your kids are going to love these crepes.
