Based on the position of the user, the office chair design is selected. For instance, an ideal one for a CEO would be one with high back and ideally made of leather. Other criteria in choosing an office chair include the time of usage. For people who need to spend long time sitting in the same position, a lumbar support is desirable. They need a very good back support. Ideal chairs for this purpose are of middle back or high back category. For home needs, the chair is often chosen to suit the wall colors and match with the room. Accordingly, the choice is made.

In general, it is not always desirable to go by price tag. A highly priced chair does not necessarily mean it is high on comfort for you. Secondly, leather may seem luxurious, but it actually absorbs considerable heat and may cause discomfort. Care must also be taken to ensure the chair has a strong base, preferably made of aluminum or similar materials. Most importantly, the chair must fit the user's body nicely and make him feel at ease.
