Choosing A Safe Toy For Your Baby Part 2

Highchair Toys your child will often need stimulating when they are in their highchair

as this is probably one of the times you are trying to multi-task; making their tea, keeping them occupied and so on. Therefore, adding kids toys to your childs highchair allows you to continue to stimulate them. Things like rattles, mirrors and so on that can be attached to the highchair are a great idea. All you need to check for are loose bits or bits that could potentially be removed by your child and swallowed. It is always surprising what your child can find and do the minute your back is turned!

Bath toys these are a great way of making bath times a fun time! And they allow you to carry out your washing task whilst your child is entertained. Bright toys will soon take your childs attention away from the fact that theyre having a wash! Just be sure that the toy is waterproof, mildew resistant and again, has no loose bits! The traditional rubber duck is a must for all children toys in the bath!

To ensure your child is always safe with their childrens toys you should always check that they have the standard CE Mark. This mark doesnt signify a consumer safety mark but it does show that the kids toy has passed relevant EU safety standards. The Lion Mark also indicates that the childrens toy has passed safety tests of a very high standard that have been set by the British Toy and Hobby Association.

Whilst some toys may have these marks you should also have other tests yourself as a parent as not all of the toys aimed at children will be particularly safe for your baby. Always, always check for lose bits or choking hazards. Most toys should carry a warning if they are unsuitable for children of a certain age so always be sure to check the label.
