Corporate award and gifts are the ideal way to market your company or business. They are an excellent way to show those with whom you do business that you appreciate your working relationship. Although corporate awards are an excellent way to maintain these relationships, they also can be used promote your business to other customers and obtain new corporate clients.
Selecting gifts for corporate recipients is a difficult task. Try as you might, there is still the possibility that your award or gift will not be received with as much enthusiasm as you'd like. Who has been selected to receive the corporate gift or award? Is it the boss, the company owner, deserving employee or even a valued client? There are many variables that must be thought of prior to purchasing a gift, much like buying a birthday or anniversary present. The difference is that, unlike a personal gift, this gift could have corporate financial or staff repercussions.
Each workplace or office has a hierarchy that needs to be considered when selecting recipients. It would be nice if everyone was treated equally in regardless of their position. But, the reality is that colleagues with a higher standing are recognized more than staff in lower positions. A great example is an agent that secures a million dollars in contract would be expected to receive a more significant award or gift than the staff worker with the perfect attendance record.
If the recipient is a valued client, you must also take into account that how much you are willing to spend justifies your relationship with that client or company. For example, your million dollar investor wouldn't receive a simple wooden plaque.
The Occasion for the Award
The specific occasion must be taken into consideration when giving a corporate award or sending a gift. Here are a few of those occasions:
In commemoration of specific major events: These include major holidays, a company landmark anniversary, birthdays of the company founders or executives, or simply a special event in the company's life such as its founding.
Company social events: Whatever the company's choice of event is, there are certainly a variety gifts and awards that would be appropriate. For example, golfing events with trophies, or, company picnics that honor valued employees with gifts and corporate awards.
Celebration of specific events: These could include a company gift for maternity celebration, retirement, staff birthdays and team building events.

Pairing the gift or award's value to the recipient and selecting an appropriate time to bestow the item, play a large part in how it is received and will be appreciated by the recipient or honoree. You can make the most of the occasion by knowing all the facts and choosing wisely.
