Choosing Correct Prescription and Designer Glasses to Suit Your Face

For many people, the primary concern while buying prescription or designer glasses online is whether the glasses will look good on their faces. Fortunately for them, there are ways to narrow down the entire catalogue to a certain style which suits their faces the best. Generally it depends on the shape of the face, the skin tone and colour of the eye balls.

There are six different face shapes which call for different frames of prescription glasses:

1. Round A round face is one which has curve lines with same length and width proportions and no angles. One should try angular and narrow eyeglass frames to lengthen the face and a clear bridge that widens the eyes.

2. Oval It is considered to be the ideal shape because it has balanced proportions. For this shape, eyeglass frames should be wider than the broadest part of the face, or walnut-shaped frames which are not too deep or narrow.

3. Oblong an oblong face is longer than it is wide, with a long cheek line and sometimes a longish nose. Eyeglass frames should have more depth than width or a low bridge to shorten the nose.

4. Triangle - A base-down triangular face has a narrow forehead and widens at the cheek and chin areas. Frames should have heavy touch of colours or detailing on the top-half. A base-up triangular face has a sharp contrast with the top third being very wide and the bottom third narrower in comparison. Frames for this shape should be rimless and should be wider at the bottom with light colours.

5. Diamond Considered the rarest face shape, they are narrow at the eye and jaw lines while having broad cheekbones. To highlight the eyes and soften the cheekbones, try frames that have detailing or distinctive brow lines, or try rimless frames or oval and cat-eye shapes.

6. Square A square face is defined with a strong jaw line and a broad forehead. The width and the length are in the same proportions. For this face type, one should opt for narrow frame styles with more width than depth.

Other things to keep in mind are that, the frame should follow your eyebrow closely, the pupil should be in the centre of the frame and finally, the frame should be comfortable.About the Author:
