When you start looking to choose server cabinets for your data installations, remember that your office has its own particular needs. These three considerations might be termed the "basics" of server cabinet choice. You then have to recognise the corollary issues that stem from them. Noise and heat are top of the list here. Make sure you choose server cabinets that have the best ventilation possible and if necessary consider having them professionally installed as part of a properly cooled server room. The initial outlay may be greater but the return you get (servers that do not break down all the time) is more than worth it.

Think security too. The data you hold on your servers is the most important asset your company has. Without data, a company can drown and all your customers can be compromised to a degree that means they may go somewhere else for your services in future.

You can buy server cabinets with locks or combinations (like safes) on them this is an elementary safety precaution for any company carrying sensitive data, and in some cases may actually be a standardized requirement (as, for example, in the case of companies that transact credit card data online).
