Many people venturing around the country or abroad like to stay in a hotel room
. Whether it is for one night, two, a week or even two weeks it will be the place that you call home for however long you spend there. When it comes to choosing a hotel type before hitting the road in your car or jetting off on a plane, you need to take into consideration the kind of things you are looking for that will also suit those of who you are travelling with.
From the outside many hotels look impressive but it is the interior that you should be concerned about before you plan to stay there. Like the old saying goes "never judge a book by its cover". It can also be the case that you pick somewhere that is cheap and does not look that appealing from the outside but when you enter is clean, well decorated and better than expected. You should make sure you gain as much information before handing over any card details to pay, especially if you are travelling long haul as you do not want to dislike going back to your hotel room when you are stuck there for two weeks!
Searching online and in brochures will build up your knowledge and you can see for yourself how the rooms look. It is also good to look at other peoples reviews to find out their own personal stories as they will give honest opinions as opposed to biased viewpoints from the owners of the hotel. They will try to promote the hotels furniture and surroundings in the best possible light and with edited photography to back it up, so try not to be too swayed by these images.
If you do not want to stay in a standard hotel you can also look for more quirky and interesting places to stay. You can find themed hotel based on cartoon characters and movies, these are great for kids to stay in. You can also find contemporary places to stay as well as more traditional places with a country feel. The look of the hotel can also depend on the place you are visiting, if you stay in a busy city they are more likely to be modern and if you stay in a field in the middle of nowhere it will be more homely. Wherever you decide to stay it is only a base for you to stop and rest in between all the exciting activities you will have planned so make sure to not base your decision entirely upon a hotel.
