Choosing The Right Vehicle For Your Holiday Rental
When shopping for the best rental deal it is not uncommon to head straight for the cheapest and therefore smallest vehicle
. You will save money by going with this route but you will not necessarily be comfortable though. One thing that most people will check is to see if the car should hold enough people. That does not mean that it will hold them comfortably or that there will be enough room for all of the baggage.
When people are shopping around and looking at the price they don't usually immediately realize how it is only a few dollars more each day usually to upgrade to a car that is a more appropriate size. With something that is bigger you will have more leg room and more space for all the things that people carry with them when they travel. If it means a long drive that will be in comfort then that is a huge boost to a nice road trip.
Depending on the number of people that will be traveling and the amount of gear that they carry, you might want to get a minivan or SUV for the trip. This will cost quite a bit more than a tiny car. There are sometimes pretty good discounts that you can get by looking online and that can help to shave off some of the cost. Saving some money will make the cost of a larger vehicle easier to bear.
When you are comparing the price for an SUV and a mini van you will not notice too much of a difference. The cost is close but there are significant differences in space. A mini van will give you more room for all of the luggage that you will be hauling around. If you go with an SUV you will likely end up using some of the passenger space for the baggage and that is something to think about before choosing a vehicle.
The fact of the matter is that the smaller vehicles cost less in many ways. The rental fee is less and the gas will cost less. None of that matters though if you have too many people and too much stuff to actually for into the car. Sometimes you can actually fit all that you need to and you then realize that there is too much weight in the vehicle for it to bear. Having space is worth that extra money.
