Choosing Your Wedding Jewellery
Once you have found that perfect wedding dress which looks just adorable on you it's time to start planning what you will accessorise it with
. Will it be an irresistible pearl wedding necklace or perhaps a sparkly crystal tiara with matching crystal necklace and crystal earrings to really set your gown off and ensure you look a million dollars on your wedding day. If you choose to wear crystal jewellery on your wedding day it will more than likely work out cheaper than if you go for gold, platinum, diamonds etc. You don't have to spend a fortune to sparkle on your wedding day and our Swarovski crystals are said to be the next best thing to diamonds! There are a few points to remember when choosing your bridal accessories to ensure you wear what best compliments you and your dress. Bear in mind that your photographer will be taking the opportunity to capture you from every angle and you'll want to look your best for these photos which you and your family will admire for years to come.
Pay attention to the beadwork on your dress. Are you going for a simple, understated dress without any fuss? If so, you can be a little more daring when it comes to your bridal jewellery and perhaps a beautiful crystal necklace will be just the piece, you could accessorise it with a matching crystal bracelet and crystal earrings too. Is your dress embellished with little sparkly crystal beads and if so what colour are they? Are they clear (diamond-like) or do they have an iridescent effect (in the bridal accessories world this is known as AB crystal)? Does it have any pearls too? Once you have discovered the intricate materials used in the detail of your dress embellishment you can decide if you would like to have bridal accessories made from Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls or a mixture of crystals and pearls. As a general rule, if your dress is heavily embellished go easy on the bridal jewellery as you don't want to overdo it, a simple wedding necklace should suffice and compliment a busy wedding dress beautifully.
What style is the neckline on your dress? If you have a v-shaped, sweetheart or halter neckline then a necklace with a pendant or drop of some description would compliment it beautifully. If you have a very high neckline such as an Edwardian style then you could forget the necklace and opt for a beautiful pair of drop earrings instead. If you have a bateau or scoop neckline then a necklace to best suit this would involve one which curves around the contour of your neckline and does not have a drop or a pendant. If you have a strapless dress where the basque sits straight across your chest then you'll have more freedom to choose from many bridal necklace designs as you will have more space to work with and you could opt for a simple or statement necklace, a choker necklace, drop or multi-strand necklace of many different designs.
Think about the tone of your wedding dress. Is it white, cream, champagne, metallic blue or another colour? You could introduce other colours into your jewellery. For example; if you are going for a dress which looks champagne in colour you could have your accessories made in silk' Swarovski crystals which compliment champagne wedding dresses beautifully. If your dress is scarlet you could have your jewellery made in siam' Swarovski crystals, if your dress is a light mocha/coffee colour you might want to introduce golden shadow' or light Colorado topaz' into your jewels, to emphasize the shade of your dress.
Do you have a colour theme for your wedding day? Perhaps the accent colour of your bridal bouquet will depict a certain shade? You could have your bridal jewellery made bespoke, especially for you, in a colour that matches your colour theme or your bridal bouquet. Maybe you could have just a hint of colour such as lillac, rose or sage green added to a necklace, bracelet or earrings.
Once you have found the perfect bridal jewellery that's just right for you it's time to think about the wedding tiara or bridal hair accessories you will wear to accompany it. If you opt for statement and flamboyant jewellery you will want to calm it down with a simple understated tiara and if you opt for simple jewellery you can get away with a more impressive tiara. Your choice of bridal tiara will also depend upon the hair style you have chosen to wear on the day. Brides with fuller hair, curls and statement hairdo's will generally need to have a bigger tiara because a simple headband would just get lost on bigger hair. And simple hairdo's i.e. straight hair flowing softly down or part up and part down will need a softer looking tiara. Pay attention to the size of your head too, do you have a small head? If so, keep the tiara small too as a large tiara would only serve to overshadow you and we wouldn't want that to happen because it's important that you stand out, your complete look that is, and not just one aspect of you such as your tiara.
And don't forget your bridesmaids either...
It's popular practice for brides to combine a gift for their bridesmaids with something they can actually wear on the day and there is no better item to give them than a piece of crystal jewellery which is made especially for them and in a colour to match their attire. We have over 50 crystal colours for you to choose from so you will surely find something to match. If you really feel like indulging you could treat them to a jewellery set and perhaps a matching crystal tiara too. Bridemaids jewellery sets are good value for money and won't cost you the earth so if your budget will allow for it it's worth getting all your bridesmaids the same matching accessories, we don't want any fighting!
