You are no doubt aware of how stunning decking can look in so many situations
. More often than not, decking can completely transform a house and garden and also add to the value which can't be a bad thing.
As you would expect though, there are also quite a few disadvantages to the traditional type of decking which many people don't even consider until it's to late. The wood can begin to rot if good care is not taken and applying sealants and weather proofing can be quite a big job. It is not unusual for the decking to start to warp and before you know it, the once brilliant idea of installing decking does not now seem to be such a good one.
There is an answer that adequately solves all of these problems and that is to use a product called ecodek instead of the more traditional types of decking materials, ie wood.
Ecodek is compiled of a mixture of hardwood fibres and polyethylene which really does have the same effect as the decking materials that you may be used to but the finish is absolutely stunning. You would have difficulty telling the difference between ecodek and hardwood decking but the big difference is that ecodek really is made for the great outdoors and due to its manufacture there is no way that you will experience rotting, warping or splitting or any of the other problems that affect wood.
What's more, during the assembling of the decking, ecodek can be sanded and cut just the same as any normal wood but once the decking has been put together you can just leave it alone. An occasional wipe down is all that is required for it to look as good as it did on the day the decking was first assembled.
