Chris Niarchos - Entrepreneur, Car Racer And Untiring Enthusiast

Chris Niarchos was once described by a journalist as the most enthusiastic man in British motor-sport

. Well, the 'enthusiasm' tag fits him in all ways, not just in motor-sport, but in business and in personal life too.

It was sheer enthusiasm that made Chris Niarchos plunge into the world of face-to-face marketing at the very young age of 22. It was in Sydney, Australia that he launched his business, spurred on by a vision to make it to unforeseen heights and build his company into the world's largest and most successful Sales and Marketing Company. He began with the consumer products industry and consequently ventured into other areas like telecommunications, energy, charity fund-raising, finance and insurance etc. The company shifted base from Australia to UK and grew into an international marketing phenomenon. Appco Group at present is spread over 25 different countries and shows no signs of stopping with that. This year the company has had country launches in Brazil, America and Russia. In the recent meet of the company's Board of Directors and Senior Executives, held in Portugal, plans for further expansion have been discussed in detail. Appco thus grows and continues to maintain standards as it grows, thanks to the untiring efforts of the man at the helm of affairs- Chris Niarchos.

Chris' tryst with car racing began when he, through Appco Group, partnered with Andrew Kirkaldy in 2006. They first met when they raced together in the British GT Championship and this resulted in the formation of the British racing team then known as "AKA Cobra". The next step was the formation of CRS Racing in 2007. CRS Racing made news when one of its Ferraris won the first British GT race of the 2008 season and went on to take the teams title. They also coveted the Championship victory in Formula Renault and race victories in the FIA GT Championship and also got represented in different segments of car racing like Le Mans Series, GT Open, CRS and Formula Renault.
