Claritin allergy such as hives, breathlessness, swelling on face, lips, tongue, and throat may also occur.

What precautions do I need to follow while using Claritin?

Patient who is suffering from kidney and liver disorder should not use this medication if it is not prescribed by the doctor for there is a need of adjustment in the dosage if the patient is having these conditions. Make sure you also let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or a lactating mother before using this medication as there is no adequate research done on this. Let your doctor know whether or not you are using any prescribed or un-prescribed, herbal or any supplementary diet as there might be a need of adjustment in the dosage. Use this medication with caution in the children as it is not advisable to give this medication to the patient who is below 6years of age.
