I have been playing with clasical music creation productivity software ever since I dowm loaded a test copy of Cool Edit way back in high school. It was kind of clunking, but I decidedly admired it. I suddenly had a compelling program in my grasp that could do all kinds of musical things that I had never imagined possible. I could amalgamate my own tones, give them contrary styles and effects, layer diversified tracks on top of each other, play things back to front - you name it. By the standards of today's best clasical music production shareware, It wasn't very strong, but at the time it absolutely blew me away.

Producing clasical music was a dream of mine at the time. I even commenced going to college to start a music industry career. One of my family was heavily involved in the music industry as a local performer in Wales. Although he was not really making a course out of it, he did have a nice tidy extra income from his performances. Buying racks and racks of workshop accessories was prohibitively exorbitant - specifically for an amateur sound recording designer like myself. The software for clasical music production cost several hundred pounds, but this was hardly anything compared to the prices of goods sound recording apparatus.

What I did not realise then was how many different varieties of music production shareware there are, and how distinct the results were between them. A typical clasical music production programme could run anywhere from 50 pounds to 500, I know to have the same features. Some were basically clasical music recording and mixing programmes, designed to do different tracks and clean up the sound quality. Others were designed for electronic clasical music recording artists. They had music sampling, advanced effects, and MIDI capabilities. I slowly realised that if you required to be a recording architect, you needed to have one of everything and be able to do it all. You couldn't very well have someone come into your studio and not able to bring in the equipment he needed. I decided to learn it all.
