Enthusiast is an understatement for the lucky new owner of the original Aston Martin DB5 which starred alongside Sean Connery in the Legendary James Bond film Goldfinger. Unbeknown to Aston Martin at the time this classic car went on to become one of the most sought after classics of all time.

Unbelievably the DB5 was expected to go for more than 3 million, but still managed to reach an amazing 2.6 million. The BBC website reported that the new owner "vowed to take his new purchase for a spin around the streets of London", which knowing the busy traffic in the city, I'm sure he didn't manage to reach the 145mph the car is capable of, but I'm sure he got a few curious glances.

Strangely enough the owner didn't attend the auction with the intention of buying this expensive motor vehicle, but there is no doubt the beauty of the DB5 was enough to convince him she was a worthwhile investment as well as a worthy asset.

Just like most James Bond movies this story has a happy ending. It has been reported that the proceeds of the sale are said to be going to the charitable foundation supporting education and anti-crime projects internationally.
