Clean Up Clutter And Create Space
A contemporary home means less clutter, more space
, and an overall cleaner area in which to live. You may not even know that your home may be keeping secrets from you. In some homes, there are forgotten corners and out-of-the-way places that allow for expansion. So even if you think there isn't enough storage in your home, there may in fact be plenty. What you may need are creative ideas on how to make the most of the existing space in your home and maximize storage. Items like storage trunk and chests are good options, as well as other space-saving items.
Classic Storage
The first storage idea is likely the one that most people will go to: Purchasing storage items. Everything from standard storage trunk and chests to vintage storage trunks can be purchased for the home. The great thing about this option is that multiple and even random items can be placed inside of the trunks or chests without guests knowing. This is perfect for ridding living rooms or even bedrooms of unnecessary clutter. Moreover, vintage trunks can actually add to the aesthetics of a room through their classic appeal. For more modern interior designs, newer, more extravagant chests or trunks can be used. Some options include:
Wooden trunks
Stainless steel trunks
Faux leather trunks
Crocodile storage trunks
Leather trunks
Pattern trunks
And more
The Bedroom
Fortunately for many, the bedroom offers a number of options for storage because most guests don't enter it. For guests, you can add the classic Murphy bed, which magically (not really) pop in and out of the walls. If you don't have a spare bedroom, Murphy beds fold up into the walls and are an economic option for saving space and even creating some.
Curtain hooks are another great bedroom option. These types of hooks are perfect for hanging up purses, small bags, and other small items that usually sit on the closet floor. These will reduce clutter and make it easier to get items as they will be at eye level.
For families with babies, or a baby on the way, there is the concealed changing table. A small nursery can create storage nooks for wipers, diapers, and more with a fold-down changing table that vanishes into the wall. And families with small children, you can purchase functional furniture that provides storage space for clothes, toys, and books and that also contain built-in shelves and drawers. At same time, they can be something your kids play with and use every day.
Other Rooms
Either a built-in storage unit or purchasing clever cabinets can help clear up some space and create another storage area. Cabinets or shelves can be placed just about anywhere including the living room as long as it flows with the existing design of the room. Even hall closets can have built-in cabinets or added shelves at the base to clean up some of the clutter in there.
Cleaning up clutter is really about utilizing space efficiently.
