Clean Your Barbeque Grill the Right Way
People normally clean their grills with ordinary materials; this should be avoided because it can damage the grill itself. To avoid that from happening and to prolong your grill's lifespan, you can purchase cleaning tools that will clean your grill thoroughly while keeping it undamaged. These grill cleaning tools come in complete sets so you will not have a hard time finding other cleaning items.
Before you clean your grill, be sure to read the instruction manual first. Follow the cleaning instructions so you won't ruin your grill. If there are no instructions, then follow these steps: Be sure that it is not hot and that you have disconnected gas or electric lines or removed any coals from the grill. Use a wire grill brush in dislodging food particles that have build up on the grate then rinse it with water.
For stubborn food particles, warm up the grill so they can be removed easily. This can be done by placing aluminum foil over the grate, warming up the grill and then turn it off. Wait for the grill to cool down, then you can remove the foil and rinse the grill.
There are also non-stick cooking sprays available in groceries if you want to avoid serious cleaning of your grill. By applying non-stick cooking spray, you can avoid food from sticking in grates so clean-up time is faster. After you have removed food particles with barbeque tools, wash it with soap and water and dry it under the sun.
You should remember to not clean the surface when it is still hot, because some cleaning products react differently in hot conditions or you might get burned. Also, invest in good quality grill brushes. These barbeque tools work well in scraping off food particles compared to normal brushes. Look for one in brass bristles. But if your barbeque grill is coated with nonstick finish, do not use steel wool or coarse wire brush as these will scrape off the nonstick finishes, use a plastic scrubbing pad instead.
Aside from sanitary reasons, cleaning your grill after use is helpful to avoid rust to build up. Failure of cleaning them makes your grill rusty, damages it and eventually, you will not be able to use it. By regularly cleaning your grill with these barbeque tools, you will be assured of a longer lifespan of your grill thus enjoying its benefits longer.
