1. The first thing you need to do is to clean your travertine tiles using a soft broom. This can help remove the dust, which can accumulate overtime and damage the finish of the tiles. If you dont have a soft broom, you can opt for a vacuum cleaner or a dry mob. For the former, make sure, though, that a glider is attached. Moreover, choose a microfiber towel when cleaning tile walls.

2. A neutral pH cleanser is the ideal cleaning solution for travertine tiles. It is important not to use abrasive cleaners or acidic products, like vinegar and lemon, when cleaning these tiles for they can be easily damaged from such cleaning agents.

3. If youre using a commercial tile cleaning solution, dont forget to read the directions-for-use or the label. Remember to use a microfiber flat mp when applying the solution. Use full and even swipes when cleaning and dont forget to wring the mop out first before applying it directly on the tiles.

4. After using the cleaning solution, rinse the mop with clean water, wring it out and thoroughly wet the area with it. Use the wet mop again to make sure that the cleaning solution is rinsed well.

5. You can either wait for the tiles to dry or use a dry mop over it. After using the dry mop, make sure that the floor is completely dry. If you see any wet spots, use a clean towel to dry them.

6. As for the walls, use a clean, soft cloth dipped in the cleansing solution. Wipe the cloth over the wall and make sure to dry it out using a damp, cleanser-free cloth. Dont forget to remove all moisture by wiping the walls with a dry cloth.

Travertine tiles require regular care for them to last longer. Daily vacuuming or sweeping can help avoid dust from accumulating. Although you dont have to use the above procedures everyday, remember to schedule your cleaning duties once or twice each week for effective maintenance.
