Clothing Shopping Tips
If you are one of these women who need a map and a compass to find something wearable
in high street stores and shopping for clothes gives you headaches as well as causes confusion - you are reading the right article. I have a few little tips that may help you to navigate better in the jungle of rails.
Before you hit the high street decide what do you want to buy and if there is more than one thing on your listtry to prioritizethem, this way you will reduce time spent wandering around and looking for nothing in particular.
If you face the dilemmaof "to buy or not to buy" ask yourself a few questions: 1.Do I have anything similar in my wardrobe? If so, then it is highly possible that you really don't need it. 2. Do I have anything thatwould gowith this particular item? and if notthencan I afford tobuythe right match or is it going to be easy to find it? Ifnot, it probably means that this garmentis not versatileenough and it will end up as a never worn lonely piece in your wardrobe.
Plain, dark colours and smooth fabricshelp to take attention away from the part of the body they cover and the opposite:bright colours, frills, bigpatterns, heavymaterials attract attention. Ideally smooth and simple clothes should beworn over the heavierhalf of your body (top or bottom) and chunkier and bright over smaller half. However remember not tomix differentseasons together, e.g.wearing light silk dress with leather winter boots is not a good idea :) And if you are one of the well-proportioned hour-glass figure girls you don't need to worry about this tip at all.
Shape matters more than colour: It is easier to brighten up or dress down the outfit in the perfect for you shape than to wear a beautiful colour dress but in a totally unflattering shape.
80 % of clothes in high street shops looks good only on 20 % ofwomen, simply because we come in all different shapes and only 20 % of clothes are versatileenough to suit 80% of us, so don't be too hard on yourself if things don't fit - it is not your problem it's justthe sad and outdatedreality of fashion industry, because standard identicalclothes are cheaper to produce, therefore you may need to spend more time to buy less clothes or stick withshops (small boutiques, on-line stores, plus size shops)that acknowledge and appreciate shape and size diversity.
Have a good shopping day!
