Cloud Computing: The Advantages And Features

Cloud computing is a term used for internet based computing where data is shared between a remote server and the client with the use of a middleware

. The name "cloud" is taken from the cloud symbol that is used in flow charts and diagram representations. If you have an internet service then you can easily access the service from any part of the world.

Experts may define cloud network in several ways, but one can easily understand it with a daily life example. We use web mail services and we can access our email account from anywhere if we have internet access. We do not need a server and email management software as all are managed by the respective cloud service provider.

Cloud system can be categorized into three sections. These are application, platform and infrastructure. Each segment has different functions and provides different services to their users. Cloud software offers a user the chance to use the applications running on the cloud infrastructure. Thin client interface like a web browser can be used to access the various applications.

Cloud platform refers to the products which are used to deploy the applications. These platforms work as an interface for the users to access applications provided by the partners. Some popular companies have also developed platforms to allow their customers to access applications from their centralized servers.

Infrastructure is considered as the backbone of cloud computing. Infrastructure sellers offer physical storage space and processing capabilities which are required for other services. The consumer does not manage the cloud infrastructure but has control on the operating system, storage and deployed applications.

If you have access to a cloud system, then you can store data online on a remote computer. You will save your computer's hard drive space this way. By storing on a remote server, you can access stored data at any place if you have internet service at the place.

To access the cloud system, one does not need a fast computer or a large physical or virtual memory. One can buy middleware to use the cloud system at the work place or home. Your hardware costs will be reduced and you will get access to various applications at economical rates.

There are several other advantages due to which cloud computing is getting popularity. The most important features of a clouding system include reliability, improvement in agility and scalability. As data is centralized so you will get better security, and the maintenance required is negligible.
