Children bedrooms can be a nightmare when it comes to cleaning. Even though you end up cleaning and settling things down everyday, it comes right back to square one the very next morning. How often do you feel that when you enter you do not end up taking one step forward and two backwards?

All you need to do as parents, is a little control and organizing things systematically, so that these values are instilled in your child from the beginning.

The first things that need to be sorted out are their clothes. You need to keep a tab on what is required and what is not, keeping in mind your child's favorite outfits. Folding clothes in a neat stack, putting the dirty ones in a wash bag are some of the basic things both parents and the child should know and understand. Since the child is in the growing phase, a lot of times they outgrow their clothes which too need to be taken care of.

Putting colorful shelves for things like books, stationary etc adds a fresh look as well as saves space. Use a color code for things matching the room decor. It is more like a visual reminder for them to keep things back at their place. No child will even sit on their table if it is really cluttered up. If everything is kept in place, the child will automatically like their study table. This is actually an added advantage for the parents.

Labeling is an excellent idea to avoid clutter. The child will himself be a little conscious of not throwing things around. You can simply label them with colorful strips of paper. They can be put on drawers, computer screen, cupboards, shelf edges, bowls and baskets.

Another interesting feature you can look into is door hangers, but not at a level where your child cannot reach. They are like these instant places where your child can hang things easily rather than putting them away.

All this requires just a little bit of planning and innovation. It will, in a way, act as a good interactive session with your child if you get them involved.
