CNA certification in Arizona allows nurse aides to work legally in the state health care facilities
. After completing an approved nurse aide training program, students are required to take and pass state licensure test to gain the certification.
The Certification Exam in Arizona is designed to assess ones proficiency in nursing field to make sure that the candidates who are going to start their earnings as nurse aides are quite capable to perform their duties with full efficiency. In order to sit for state licensure test a student must meet following eligibility requirements:
Must have an age of 18 years or above
Must have high school diploma or GED
Should complete a state approved CNA training program
Must pass criminal background check
Should clear drug and skin test
CNA certification exam in Arizona has two parts a written and a practical and students are bound to pass both parts successfully to acquire the certification. One who fails in any one part of examination can take the test for that particular part and students who dont qualify both of the sections are required to retake the certification test. Within two years of CNA training completion, students can attempt the licensure test three times.
Students who fails in certification exam even after three attempts, are required to complete nurse aide training once again and apply for certification exam again.
Those who qualify the state licensure assessment successfully are eligible to get listed in state Nurse Aide Registry. The Arizona Board of Nursing also provides them nurse aide certification, so that they can perform legally in state health care facilities.
Certification Renewal
Certified nursing assistants in Arizona are required to renew their license in every 24 months. In order to renew the nurse aide license students must fill the renewal form and pay the fee. In addition, the Arizona Nurse Aide Registry requires students to submit a proof of working at least for 160 hours in past two years.
The application forms for renewal of certification are sent to CNAs by mail or post by nurse aide registry. Students must update the address and other details at the registry from time to time.
CNAs, who fail to renew their license before expiry date, cannot perform regularly as certified nurse aide in Arizona health care settings. After two years of certification issue date, it gets expired and failure to renew in the prescribed time period requires retaking and passing the certification exam again to obtain CNA license once again.
