Many locations throughout Latin America have the most breath taking scenes. South America has two lovely locations where anyone can experience ancient and modern Latin society. They are the cities of Lima and Arequipa located on the beautiful east coast of Peru. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean is the city of Lima, with its flat terrain carved with deep valleys and tall mountains. Because of the cool breeze from the Pacific Ocean, Lima has a calm and mild climate, making it the perfect relaxation spot. Located about 1,000 kilometres south of Lima, is Peru's second largest city, called Arequipa. It is one the most attractive cities, with its historical churches and mansions. Many of its building were made from sillar, a white volcanic rock moulded into building stones, dubbing this it with the name "White City".

With it serene green pastures, snow-capped mountains, and its vibrant city, Arequipa, has the second deepest canyon in the world, called Colca Canyon, located only a few hours away. The deep canyon is known for its small holes in its cliffs, the Colca Valley and the Colco River, which is located in its vicinity. The Ancient Incas, who used to inhabit this area centuries ago, used the cliffs for storing food as well as burying their dead. In modern times, the Colca valley is trinkled with small villages populated by the local people who maintain the ancient traditions of the Inca people. The canyon is home to its most popular attraction, the Andean Condor, whose graceful wing span can been seen in the early mornings or late afternoons.

Also located in the Arequipa region is a small town called Chivay, which located on the upper side of the Colca River, it is situated in the part of the Colca Canyon that is not so deep. Near this small town of Chivay, is an exotic hot spring called La Calera, where you can enjoy an exhilarating hot soak after a long day tour. La Calera has two outdoor pools, an indoor pool, a small caf, and along its dusty roads you will find a local market in the area. Visiting this part of the world would be a memorable experience.
