Collective Work to Combat Chinese Dominance

Collective Work to Combat Chinese Dominance

It might seem somewhat extreme, but the Chinese market can be very aggressive. People that are trading from the rest of the world might find the kitchen too hot to handle. The best solution to this problem is to work in a collective effort that ensures that the Chinese manufacturers are given a semblance of competition on the Western market. At the moment it is a case of fatalistic capitulation. That is not going to turn the market around. Instead the major players within the market have to ensure that they are putting up a united front to counteract the overwhelming influence of Chinese products.

The business trends in wholesale markets:

There is no doubt that many merchants prefer to access their products on a wholesale from China. The primary objective in this stance is related to the need to maximise profits. It would be ludicrous if the merchants were not taking the time to review their commissioning procedures in line with the expectations that clients have of them. They would also be crazy to ignore the price advantages that come when they deal in Chinese products. This is the new business reality that the protagonists cannot afford to ignore.

As a case in point there are some people that prefer wholesale USB hubs from Europe but the pricing structures of those products make it very difficult to compete on the market. The next best alternative is to settle for the model whereby the products are sold to the highest bidder. The Chinese market can wipe the floor with any provider using their unique cost saving models. We can continue to sing the same song about human rights but China will dominate the world in the future. At that point they will be able to define human rights according to their own priorities.

Do Western merchants realise the challenges that face them?

Many merchants in developed countries realise that China is taking over their niche world. However, they seem to be powerless to intervene. A xenophobic stance will only make matters worse because it elicits a similar response from the Chinese authorities. It is far better to work on the basis of mutual cooperation. That is a challenge that is sometimes too difficult for the major players in the industry. They are happy to concentrate on the individual problems that are facing their industries instead of taking a generic approach to the issues that are openly raised by the success of the Chinese market.
