Record all emergency numbers in your cell phone even if you have them noted down in your wallet. This would obviously include your family phone numbers to call in case of emergency. However, you should also include emergency numbers like credit card company numbers in case your wallet is stolen and you want to get your credit cards cancelled. College Safety Tip #10: Do use the campus escort service if you are leaving late.
While you may find it embarrassing to use the campus escort service, remember it is a smart choice if you are leaving late at night.
College Safety Tip #11: Do get a locking device for your laptop.
Your laptop can be misused by other students and you could fall prey to their hacking attempts. Hence, it is important to find a locking device for your laptop. It could be a physical lock or an electronic tracking device.8
College Safety Tip #12: Do keep friends and family updated about your whereabouts.
Ensure that someone knows about your whereabouts at all times. Irrespective of whether you are within college or going out with friends, make sure someone knows where you are going. Also, it is better to inform your friends once you reach home if you live off-campus.
