Some only cover specifically the cost of tuition and books, leaving you on our own to buy your own supplies and food. However you figure it, you've gotten a great deal of value from your little scholarship essay.

It's a given fact that not everybody enjoys writing -- to some, it's a torture on the level of the Chinese Water Torture. But even for those people, putting out your best effort in writing your scholarship essay can pay great rewards, both financially and emotionally. Some college essays are one to two thousand words or even more. (Be sure to carefully watch the word limits so that you don't go under or over.) Whether or not you take the time to apply for grants or scholarships, just be sure to apply for financial aid at your school of choice. College tuition is expensive, and gets more so by the day. It's a shame to have these resources there for the taking and just pass them by. When you've made the decision to continue your education, be sure to make it financially easy on yourself as well.
