Colour Symbolism In Web Design

The process of building a proper web site is called Web Designing

. It is a process where the content or information is presented in a systematic manner to people on the World Wide Web by a web site developer. The aim of web design is to create a website which consists of all the documents and relevant information which are supported by web servers. Presenting a website in an attractive manner is called a Layout. The look of the website and how people receive a particular website purely depends on the layout of the website.

Layout consists of all the features of the look of the website, and colours for a website play a major part in the layout of a website. Proper colours have to be selected while designing a web site so that it carries some significance towards the website it is created for.

Colours form a major factor while creating a web site and the web designers have to take proper care before selecting a colour as it affects the total look of the web site. Different colours have entirely different meanings when they are used in a web site and those differences can also be in a cultural, political and religious way which affects the sentiments of the people visiting a web site. Hence, proper care has to be taken before choosing a colour for a web page in web designing.

Some people think that the colour will not play any role on the minds of the web site visitors, but the wrong usage of a particular colour may create the wrong impression and receive a bad reaction from the users. Choosing a colour for a website should not be a personal choice. The web designer should always keep in mind its audience and should select colours which are acceptable to all users.

Selecting the correct colour can evoke a certain psychological effect on the users when sending some relevant information about the website. Web designers should not over analyse about the type of color they have to use for a website, but should keep in mind that it has a great impact on the visitors of the site and should use the color accordingly.

Colour shades can also influence the user. Thick colours or dark colours like shades of red, brown and other such colours give a warm welcoming effect on the visitor of the website. Lighter shaded colours tend to have a calming effect on the visitors of the web site. So choosing the correct colour shades is important and will help to increase the traffic to your website. Web designers have to take proper care before selecting a colour that gives the correct impression and provides information about the web site without being too bold or too weak.
