Come Experience A Snow Show
For many a snow show involves looking out the window at the wonder of the falling
flakes and then contemplating brushing off the car, shovelling the walks and driveway and the morning commute to the office. In some countries, snow never falls and is only something heard of in story books or seen in the movies. Whether you are familiar with snow or not, nothing can come close to an amazing display of ice sculptures, a maze built entirely of blocks of snow, snow slides or building a snowman in a controlled climate "" welcome to The Ice Kingdom!
Quite simply put, The Ice Kingdom is a frozen winter wonderland. In 2010 alone The Ice Kingdom was toured by more than one million people as it moved from Dallas, Texas to Orlando, Florida, Washington, DC and Nashville, Tennessee. Millions of people around the globe have visited this snow show outdoors where the climate is appropriate or in a variety of environmentally controlled facilities, including domes. Just think, you can get out of your air conditioned car that has been battling the 30 degree centigrade temperature, walk across the parking lot and approach a set of domes twinkling with every color in the rainbow. Once inside you will be given a snow coat to keep you warm in the minus five centigrade buildings.
The snow show is made entirely of ice; over two million pounds! It takes a team of 40 or more expert ice carvers just under a month to create this winter wonderland of giant buildings, animals, people and places for you to enjoy. Each ice sculpture is carved with LED lights inside "" they quite literally glow from the inside out. To create this snow show to absolute perfection requires a portable ice factory which produces opaque, coloured and clear ice for the ice sculptures. There is a beauty in each sculpture that must be seen to be truly appreciated.
Now, time to move over to the next area and slide down a giant ice slide. You are never too old to laugh and giggle over this adventure. And age is never a consideration when it comes time to build a snowman! Every hour fresh snow is produced to ensure that each participant gets the full experience. You can even throw a snowball in a designated area. Even if you live in an area that sees a plethora of those little white flakes, you know it takes ideal conditions to make a snow man or a snow ball. Just the right temperature to make the snow sticky enough, yet cold enough to ensure the carrot nose and coal eyes do not fall out before you can snap a few pictures. Cold enough to keep frosty standing upright, yet warm enough that you are not rushed to get him built. And just when you thought snow could not get any better, you come upon a maze comprised of metre thick walls to work your way through. You can look up from the interior of the maze and still take in the wonder of the giant sculptures.
In the snow show the temperature is always perfect and there is always fresh snow. This is an experience you will want to take advantage of. Come look at snow in a completely different way!
