In February 2010 me and my partner thought it was time to start trying to conceive, I had been taking cerazette for 3 and a half years and had not once had any kind of bleed. I decided to Google cerazzete and the side effects of coming off of it and the reality of how long it may take to get pregnant.
I was so shocked and worried that after taking this pill I might have to wait many years to get pregnant after reading all of the negative comments people had to write about this pill. However, once I stopped taking cerazette I had the initial spotting and tender boobs these were the only side effects I had.
A few weeks later I started to feel very tired and my boobs suddenly started to grow, I was experiencing headaches, bloating and I was generally not feeling myself. After all the things I had read I put this down to coming off cerazette . Then one day at work I started to feel very light headed and my blood pressure went very low, I came home and thought I had better do a pregnancy test - I didn't tell my partner I was doing one as I was convinced that the way I was feeling was all due to coming off the pill. to my shock the two blue lines appeared in a matter of seconds confirming I was in fact pregnant and not anything to do with coming off the pill.
when we worked out the dates and when I had my 12 weeks scan we found out we had actually conceived in the first 7 days of coming off the pill. I am now 33 weeks pregnant with no signs of any miscarriage, I have had a very healthy pregnancy and looking forward to giving birth to our first child in December this year . I felt I should write about my good experience with cerazette as the internet is full of negative comments. I think the most worrying thing for me was reading that I had a very high chance of a miscarriage due to getting pregnant so quick, but after speaking to my midwife I learned that this was in fact untrue.
I hope my article can make some of you ladies not worry so much about coming off cerazette and sometimes it is really to do with our bodies being ready for pregnancy and not the pill we have been taking for years.
