WAKEFIELD, MA

With the holiday season just around the corner, CommTank, located at 84 New Salem Street in Wakefield, MA, is pleased to announce that they will once again be teaming up with the US Marine Reserve Corps to serve as a collection point for the upcoming 2010 Toys for Tots program.

This marks CommTank's fourth year of participation in the program, which collects new unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year for distribution as Christmas gifts to needy children. CommTank Project Manager Dan Hoag is hoping that local residents and businesses will pitch in by donating more toys than ever this year. "Many families are still experiencing rough economic times, making the need for donations more urgent than ever," said Hoag. "An enthusiast communitywide effort will make the holidays brighter for many local children."

Toys for Tots accepts new, unwrapped toys, suitable for children ranging from 0 to 14 years of age, preferably around the $10 or above price range. The Toys for Tots program does not allow: toys with a military theme, weapons/law enforcement type toys, toys with candy, used toys, or toys with chemicals (e.g., experimental labs, acid, crystal projects). To reduce the possibility of one family receiving multiple gifts, local social service agencies and other legitimate organizations are used to identify needy children and help distribute toys in the local community.
