Lastly, diabetes is a common causative factor of periodontal disease. People who are diabetic are at an increased risk of suffering from infections like gum disease. As a result of these infections, the body's ability to control and use insulin for the control of blood sugar may become a problem and also make it hard for the body to fight off the infection.
