Commonwealth Games In Delhi Going To Be Outstanding

The much talked about Commonwealth Games is soon to be held in Delhi

. The preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi itself gives an idea about the zealous spirit of India in organizing this multi sport event. Lets one time be boastful about what the country has to tell to the world.

The logo of the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi is inspired by the Chakra, which is the symbol of freedom, unity and power. The commonwealth logo is spiraling upwards, and it depicts the growth of India into a proud, vibrant nation. The Commonwealth Games venue consists of six venue clusters and five stand alone venues in Delhi. The CWG schedule includes 17 sports, in which 71 Commonwealth nations are participating. The Commonwealth Games stadiums have been given a facelift in view of this multi sport event. Ceremonies, Athletics, Lawn Bowls, Weightlifting will be held at Cluster I: Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex; Cycling, Gymnastics and Wrestling at Cluster II: Indira Gandhi Sports Complex; Archery (Qualification Rounds) and Table Tennis at Cluster III: Yamuna Sports Complex; Badminton and Squash at Cluster IV: Siri Fort Sports Complex; Hockey and Archery Finals (India Gate) at Cluster V: MDC National Stadium Complex; and Swimming and Boxing at Cluster VI: Talkatora Garden Complex. Twenty-six new training venues are being constructed forthe Delhi 2010 for different sports. Apart from this, 16 training venues are being upgraded and will be ready on schedule.

Delhi is all set to present its best look to all the visitors of the city during this upcoming Commonwealth Games. The city-centre, Connaught Place, has been given a new faade and is already experiencing resurgence. Rajpath, the main avenue in Lutyens Delhi, is being given fresh look. The citys monuments, an integral part of the rich heritage of Delhis past, are being cleaned and revitalized. New international standard signage and bus shelters will add to Delhis modern look as will new public conveniences such as call booths, shopping areas, etc.
