Indian car makers over the years have been on the fight for the title of the cheapest car. After Tata Motors introduced the Tata Nano, beating Maruti and its range of small cars in the Indian market, no other company is so far able to beat the price of the car the company offers.

But now Maruti is on the verge of introducing the Maruti Cervo which may play as a threat to the Tata Nano and its market of buyers. With Nano controlling the cheap car market at the present, the Cervo has definitely a lot to prove to win the trust of car buyers in India and must also be able to bring focus upon them.

The Tata Nano launched on March 23rd 2009 is the only car in the world with a base price between 1- 2 Lakhs. Although Maruti Cervo is not a threat to Tata Nano regarding its price that is based between 2-3 Lakhs , its much better technology with just a lakhs price difference is much noticed. The Cervo is definitely a better option with its curvy arch roofs, stylish interiors and dashing colors. With all these features bearing much greater than the Nano a price difference of 1 lakh will be barely noticed by car consumers all around India.

The Cervo is a 5 door car equipped with a 55bhp 660cc engine where as the Tata Nano is a 4 door car equipped with a 34.5bhp, 624cc engine. Yes one can say that that the Cervo can definitely hold a bigger family as compared to the Nano.

Comparing their engines efficiency although the Cevro has a negligible but better engine efficiency being a 3 cylinder engine as compared to Nanos 2 cylinder engine, when it comes to the max power and torque it is clearly seen that with Cervos max power being 34.5 BHP @ 5250 rpm and max torque being 48 Nm @ 3000 rpm has easily beaten Nanos max power of 54 BHP @ 6500 rpm and max torque of Max Torque 64 Nm @ 3500 rpm. Both the Cervo and Nano have a MPFI petrol engine.

Coming to its mileage, for years no other car maker in the Indian market has beaten Tata at its mileage. With their key to sales being its great mileage, the Cervo can most definitely not beat Tata with their high powered engine in comparison with its 20 kmpl mileage. Although we cant predict what Maruti may come out with in the near future.

Yes the race is all set to start making it important to Compare cars in India currently. With both cars equally called most affordable and most mesmerizing fulfilling every Indians dream, the only thing left to see is if Tata can still be at its title of the most affordable with the launch of Maruti Suzuki Cervo in December this year.
