Comparing Four Kinds Of Homes

Condominiums.

Condominiums are not difficult. Most of the time, you will have already included in the association dues all of the lawn mowing and outside maintenance. You don't have to be responsible for mowing a lawn or trimming hedges, or fixing a leaky roof, and there could be a in ground pool included that you can enjoy with out having to clean it. This simplifies the life of those who are single, married without children, and/or retirement age. These can also work great as a first home. When I lived in the Tuscon, Arizona area, 2 bedroom homes were priced around $160,000, but a condo with 2 bedrooms ran about $80,000. Although in some areas you will find that condominiums can cost more than houses. Be sure that you are okay with all of the rules of the condominium before you buy, because they will have rules.

A Family Home

For couples with children, the traditional family home is generally the ideal option. No matter what style you choose, the main objective is for there to be enough room for the family and a nice fenced yard where the kids can freely play. An advantage of purchasing a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is that they have a high resale value as these are the qualities most people are looking for. You may find, however, that these run-of-the-mill homes require a much larger time and money commitment for upkeep.

A House In Town

The fact that our current home is over 100 years old does not sit well with me. The home is satisfactory, but I find the fact that many individuals are enthralled with older homes, to be bewildering. When you shop near the epicenter of a town or city, many of the houses are very old. However, being close to the center of things allows you easy access to downtown areas. We live here to be within walking distance. We are even able to walk to the local grocery store. We really enjoy the lifestyle that comes from living in town.

A Suburban Home

For those individuals seeking a more recently built home that offers space for the children to play outdoors, the suburbs are a good choice. Some suburban areas are a haven for those looking to escape city crime rates. If you choose a nicer neighborhood, you can also expect to see your home increase in value as time goes on. The problem with these homes is that you are farther away from your job and stores, and you must maintain your own home and yard. Now that the price of gas is rising, you will probably want to consider the extra miles you will have to drive.
