Comparison Of Condensing And Combination Boilers

A boiler is the best source for generating heat vapor

, or steam, from fluid or water for industrial and residential purposes. The closed container has the space for storage of water and by heating it produces the energy required. Therefore, it is very important for an industry or for an individual to choose a highly efficient boiler that can last for many years. For any type of industry, boilers have now become the energy source for heating large applications whereas for a home, it is not required to have same type of industrial boiler. The best boiler for residential use would be the hot boilers that allow heating water and circulating the hot water through pipes set in the house.

Condensing and Combination boilers are two preferred types on the market. Normally a boiler is heated using combustion fuels like oil, wood and natural gas to heat the water in the vessel. The heat exchanger is the main part of the equipment that passes the fire or gases for heating water, but if we use non-condensing boilers most of the heat vapor is wasted and released through the chimney. In this regard, condensing boilers act as effective equipment in storing the energy released or vented out.

Condensing Boilers extract additional heat from waste gases by condensing the steam to liquid and returning it to the boiler, making it 10-20% more efficient. It has an extra heat exchanger compared to non-condensing one, and after the gases are passed through first heat exchanger, the second exchanger allows preheating the vapors generated after the water has been heated. Condensing boilers are costlier because of pipes made of durable materials used for transmission of gases and for the second heat exchanger installed. The best part of the boiler is the efficiency factor that ranges up to 90%.

Combination Boilers: This boiler acts as a water heater, as no cylinders are attached to it, and equipment set up becomes easy in a residence having limited space. The internal structure comprises of coils that heats water based on the temperature with help of sensor. Though the efficiency percentage is less when compared to condensing boilers, it is more economical.

It is always advisable to have a good understanding about boilers before you purchase one. You can go to many sources for getting information about boilers, among which the internet would be your best resource to learn more, as it provides reviews from professionals and feedback from customers who have purchased one.
