* Considering the huge variation that Information Technology encapsulates, it's obvious you'll need to be able to absorb how they differ.
* You should also think long and hard about what kind of effort and commitment you'll put into gaining your certifications.
For the majority of us, sifting through all these ideas tends to require the help of an advisor who can explain things properly. And not just the qualifications - you also need to understand the commercial expectations and needs besides.
Be careful that the certifications that you're considering will be recognised by employers and are up-to-date. Training companies own certificates are not normally useful in gaining employment. The main industry leaders like Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe or Cisco each have globally renowned proficiency courses. Major-league companies like these can make sure you stand out at interview.
