A computer plays a vital role in easing our life

. This hi-tech equipment is used in office to complete the work at greater pace which reduces the workload. Students can learn, organize lessons, do research and work on the thesis. Even a common man can enjoy the benefits of this device using at home. Computer offers the children to play games, watch movies, surfing, and chatting etc with the help of the internet. But most people are not aware about the parts inside the computer and how it functions. The various parts of the computer are

Central Processing Unit:

Central Processing Unit is known as CPU is the heart, brain and body of the computer. It consists of the mother board. The mother board is the core primary circuit, which consists of complex electronic system. It is also known as the system board or the main board. The processor is the next important component. All the processing and calculations in the computer are performed by the processor.

Random Access Memory:

RAM, Random Access Memory is considered the main memory of the computer. In this computer memory the data is accessed in a particular order. There are two types of memory currently used in the desktop computers they are DDR2 and DDR3. Most people prefer DDR3 than DDR2 since DDR3 is faster than DDR2.

Read Only Memory:

Read Only Memory, ROM is the secondary memory storage device. Capacities of the ROM's are growing at the larger pace. In this type of memory the data can be reached in any order. The data and the information stored in the ROM cannot be altered.

Monitor:

Monitor is the main component of a computer. This is where the quality and the performance of the systems are checked. In general, there are two types of monitors in use, which are Liquid Crystal Display monitors and Cathode Ray Tube monitors. Plasma monitors are also available in the market .Plasma monitor is similar to the LCD monitor but they use a different technology. LCD and Plasma monitors are thin and they occupy less space and they are costly. Where as CRT monitors are larger in size and occupy more space.

The computer includes other peripherals such as Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, CD/ DVD reader and writer. Modem is the used for the internet purposes and then the Video Graphics card, Sound card etc are used for the better quality of the video and audio functioning of the system.
