Any computer running slow windows 7 can be very traumatic and worrying. Computers are very useful, but they can be very annoying if they are not working correctly. First you should ensure that your computer meets all of the requirements necessary to run Windows 7.
Minimum Specifications
The minimum specifications required to run windows 7 are a minimum of 1GB RAM, minimum 1GHz processor (either 32 or 64 bit), a graphics card with at least 128MB memory and 16GB of free space on your computer.
Upgrading
If you are upgrading form an old computer which used to run windows 98, 2000 or XP then this is likely to cause problems. This is because these are much older computers which are not designed to run windows 7. If your computer handled Windows vista satisfactorily then it should be able to run Windows 7 without problem.
If your computer meets all of the requirements but you still experience a slow computer then you will need to identify the cause of the problem.
Startup Applications
If your computer tries to load too many applications when it starts up then you will experience it being very slow. To prevent this you will need to use the msconfig utility by pressing, windows key and R and then entering msconfig. You will then be able to review the list of applications which are loaded and take a look at which applications are loaded as standard.
Registry
Make sure that you use a registry scanner to clean the registry. Registry scanners will automatically search through your computers registry taking a look at any errors. The best pieces of software will also check that the computer is safe by first backing up the registry.
Fixing the registry with a registry cleaners will almost certainly stop your computer running slow windows 7 problem.
You should never try to edit the registry manually. If you edit the registry by hand then you could cause more harm than good because it's so difficult to do.
