The popularity of computer television is growing very fast

. Now days, most of the computer users spend a lot of time in front of the computer and the number is growing very fast. However, still the traditional television viewers are greater than the computer television viewers.

Instead of using the traditional cable lines with a TV card, most of the computer users like to watch the television programs in their programs through internet. However, to watch online computer television, the net speed must be very high; because, live video streaming needs more connection speed than watching YouTube.

For using online computer television, the user will need extra software. This software is designed to connect with different online television channel sites. There are quite a few software available in the market and most of them are costly. There are few free programs, but they have limitation and do not support large number of channels. Almost every program is published independently. Even though the user has to pay for the software, this is usually a onetime payment and even if he has to pay monthly or yearly basis, the cost is lower than the cable connection.

Another important reason for the popularity of the conventional television sets is the price. For average customers, the price of the computer is much more than a normal TV set. And for many of them, the operating system of a computer is much more complex than the TV.

The computer television software provides some extra features to the user. It can record and store the video for the user to see it later. The user can modify the settings to get full screen, zoom, widescreen etc. Some have cropping and minor editing options. The viewer can surf through the database to find any suitable channel and store it in the favorite section to find it later.
