. But it isn't magic. It's EFT.
What is EFT? It's a form of acupressure that clears the energy field of the emotional blocks that cause discomfort.
EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Technique. It's based on the ancient art of acupuncture, but no needles are involved at all. Instead, the points are stimulated by tapping them with your fingertips. It's gentle, safe and easy to learn.
But your relatives will be amazed by its speed at clearing headaches. In fact, they will be so amazed that they may even doubt they ever had a headache at all!
With EFT, as well as any other technique that clears the emotions and energy field, this is not unusual. EFT practitioners call this the Apex Effect. It has been theorized that it is a form of denial that occurs when something happens and there is nothing in the person's experience to explain it.
The Apex Effect, also called the Apex Problem, can occur when there is an instantaneous relief of symptoms. When the relative you are helping can't explain how you got rid of the headache that was just a moment before causing them acute distress, they will sometimes just forget they even had one in the first place.
The best way to get around this denial is to have the relative rate their headache discomfort before you begin. Even if the Apex Effect does not occur, it is good to do this. It gives a way to measure the success of the session.
The easiest way to perform EFT is to use the point on the fleshy side of the hand, called the KC, or karate chop point. Simply tap on the point with the fingers of your other hand while you tune in to the issue. You can tune in by stating a few phrases that connect you with the problem, such as "Even though I have this headache." As you continue to tap, replace the phrase with a positive affirmation. "I love and accept myself."
Simply do this a few times, tapping the whole time. Then take a deep breath and let it go.
Often it only takes one round of this to notice a change. Since it only took seconds to do, you can do another round or two if necessary.
And that's it. The basic form of EFT is so simple even children can do it. So gather all your relatives together for a round or two. When they ask you what you did, just smile. You may just get labeled the family magician.
