Connecting To A Gay People By Weblogs
Organizations, PFLAG for instance (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) target
at offering their help and support for GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) people across all of the 50 states on the territory of the USA. Anyway, most of these states include larger cities, leaving aside those from smaller towns or villages.
The alternative to this is to connect with others on the internet who share similar experiences and lifestyles. The WWW has connected gay people close to the world, due inside part to LGBT blogs. These are blogs written by and for gay people to express themselves and to connect with others. A gay web log allows a GLBT person to communicate with other people and seek support. It allows them to say what's on their mind and ask the questions they're contemplating but not allowed to say at home because of the environment they live inside.
The weblog can be used to write what is on their mind, talk about various experiences or even just post poetry about their sexual orientation. These are all good starting points to exploring and sharing one's sexual orientation with others.
There are lots of GLBT people who come to terms with their true selves, their true identity every day and struggling with the fact that they aren't able to ask anybody questions or even have somebody who would simply offer to listen to them. It can be not only confusing but also stressful and depressive, and they need to have support. Although a gay weblog may probably not provide them with the proper support they want or deserve, it is a very good method to express one's feelings to people who really care about them and understand your situation. In order to receive support for their weblog posts, bloggers should consider posting articles in a gay blog or gay website so that their blogs are safer and will only be seen by other GLBT members and their straight supporters who are a part of the community, somehow. It also gives them the opportunity to learn from others who have similar experiences with theirs. As an addition when talking about writing a gay weblog, GLBT individuals can use the Internet in order to find others who write gay blogs and enjoy LGBT related posts/issues.
A gay weblog can also be utilized to find other GLBT individuals within and around one's own community. If they feel comfortable revealing their location on the weblog, somebody else seeking support might arrive across it and send them a message. Allies of GLBT folks may also reach out to the individual using the weblog and establish a PFLAG chapter within that area.
PFLAG sections are often started by parents and friends/supporters of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people who have just came out of the closet. It is their way of showing their love and support to their children and other gay people nearby A gay weblog can alert GLBT allies that somebody nearbyseeks support, understanding and help and could really benefit from a local PFLAG section.
