In the Europe, the PC version was made available in the marketplace on the 3rd October 1996.In Sonic CD, you will encounter with a number of robots. Every time you destroy a robot, you will get 100 points. If you destroy a ship that belongs to Dr. Robotnik, you will get 1000 points. You will be awarded with 100 points for each of the ring you possess when you come to end of the level. If you hit a bumper in Collion Chaos, you will be awarded with 10 points. There is a limit of points which you can achieve for hitting a bumper. In order to gain a life, you can smash a 1 up monitor or collect 100 rings. You can lose a life if you are hit with zero rings. You will lose a life if you didn't complete the level within the allotted time. You will drown if you spend more than 20 seconds under the water. To survive under the water for more than 20 seconds , you must get an air bubble.The different between Sonic CD and Sonic the Hedgehog 1 is that it allows you to travel through time. You can travel through time to find out about the past and future. In order to travel into the past or future, you must touch the past or future imp. After you have touched the past or future imp, you will see a time warp displayed next to the live bar. When the time warp appears, you must move very fast. After that, you will observe the stars flashing behind. You must not slow down otherwise the imp will dissapear. When the imp starts to flash, you will have to go for another few seconds to travel to another period in time.The mission of the player is to achieve good future. To achieve good future, you must go to the past and avoid the future imp. When you are in the past, you have to find the gray cage with electric bars. Once you find the gray cage with electric bars, you must destroy it. If you managed to get good future in the first and second round, the third round will look very bright and colorful.
