A browlift, also sometimes referred to as a forehead lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure

that reduces the lines and creases that often develop in the forehead region. The browlift is also capable of minimizing the creases that make themselves obvious as we age across the bridge of the nose. A lift of this sort can improve the appearance of the forehead and can do wonders for what we often call frown lines. It can also be useful in terms of repositioning a brow that is lower on the face and has started to sag. No one wants to have eyebrows that are droopy!

When you first enter the cosmetic surgeon's office you may feel a little nervous and uncertain about what to expect when you sit down for your browlift consultation. Be calm, composed and as relaxed as possible. All of the questions you have about the upcoming surgical procedure can be asked at this time. In fact you should not hold back at all. If there is something you want to say or ask the doctor then do so. That is what the consultation is for.

Both the safety as well as the success of the procedure will depend greatly upon how open you are while the consultation is taking place. You need to ask the right questions but you also need to answer the questions that are asked by the cosmetic physician. You will be asked about your health, your lifestyle and your hopes for the browlift.

You should be prepared in advance for what you will need to discuss. You need to be able to communicate your reason(s) for wanting to have the browlift procedure in the first place. Your expectations need to be made clear to the doctor as well as the outcome that you desire. The doctor needs to know that your purpose for wanting the surgical procedure is in line with what is realistic.

You also need to inform the plastic surgeon if you are suffering from any medical conditions or if there are any from your past that could affect your surgery or could lead to possible complications. Any medical treatments need to be divulged as do any drug allergies that you suffer from.

But that is not all. The doctor will ask you if you are currently taking any type of medications. If you are then he will need the names of the drugs and will want to know why you are taking them and for how long you have been taking them. All of this information must go into your file before a date and time for the forehead lift surgery can be scheduled.

If you take any vitamins, minerals or herbal supplements then you must disclose that as well. There are instances where supplements can lead to complications arising from cosmetic surgery such as a forehead lift. Any previous surgeries also need to be noted on your medical file. You never know what details about your health are relevant which is why you should tell the plastic surgeon everything about your past and present health history.
