. The presence of market and its influence grew significantly in the new era and consumer complaints behaviors and habits have changed drastically in the 21st century. The over-dependence of consumer on the market has given rise to dishonesty and fraudulent practices. The motive to make inherent profits, mass production and sales has given manufacturers and dealers a good reason to exploit consumers. As a consumer, you must have noticed how some of the products are under-weighted, are of inferior quality and do not prescribe to quality standards specified by quality-control agencies. Consumers sometimes dont get value for their money and often they suffer losses and inconvenience due to market manipulations. To safeguard the costumers protection, Government has implemented six consumer rights .The six consumer rights are:

Right to Safety

Right to Information

Right to Choice

Right to be heard

The Right to Redress

The right to consumer education.

If these rights are not protected then the consumers have every liberty to file complaints against the organization or the person concerned. A legal complaint can be filed by

1:- A consumer or a group of consumers with similar complaints

2:- A registered consumer organization.

3:- The Central or the State Government

Legal measures for consumer rights and consumer protection must be uniform, and transparent in terms of prices, quality of goods, and stocks. Consumers must have the means to combat malpractices and protect their rights and Consumer Forum is one such tool.

Consumer forum has online application form where you need to lodge your complaint. This will be followed by a series of advises by a group of experts to carry on the proceedings. Consumer Forum India is a means of protecting the consumer rights which people are sometimes not aware of.

Consumer rights are basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled. Consumer rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever the nationality, place, sex, national or ethnic origin, and status in the society. We are all equally entitled to our consumer rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, inter-reliant and indissoluble.

As a consumer we must be aware of our rights and should follow some simple rules while purchasing products so that any kind of inconvenience could be avoided. Some of the simple rules that one must follow while buying products are:

Do not make the mistake of throwing away your cash memos where the prices are mentioned until satisfied with the product you have bought. Always maintain a file of your telephone, electricity bills, and House tax bills. If you are making consumer complaints then make sure that all documentation is in order. If you dont get a sympethetatic reply after complaining to the dealers then always complaint to higher authorities or else you can even file a consumer forum. A consumer forum is a quick way to make your complaints and a tool through which you can express your opinion.
