Consumer Reports Publishes Top Heater Recommendations for Winter 2010-2011

With winter around the corner, Consumer Reports evaluated 14 popular portable heaters as reported in a recent 2010 article

. The evaluation took into account many factors, including the performance of the unit, safety features, size/weight , ability to control room temperature, and ease of use. After months of testing in a climate-controlled chamber, the product testers created a list of recommended models that, based on their expert evaluation, deserve special recognition.

The Vornado TVH500, which earned a 78 on a scale of 100, took the top spot in the Electric Fan-Forced Convection category. The experts at Consumer Reports offered the following opinion of the TVH500, "While not exactly cheap, the Vornado offers the best combination of performance and features in this category.
