When it comes to have elevated blood sugar, exercise is good for you. It is indeed more potent than any other ways and means to control blood sugar without medicine. Here you have some tips on diet management with
choices of diet foods to control diabetic sugar.
1. You should avoid high calorie foods like pastries, candies, and processed foods. Processed foods contain preservatives that are detrimental to health. Sometimes old stock foods are kept for sales in open market. Any food in processed condition loses its natural potential to cater the need of the consumer.
2. You should avoid white flour diet foods. Choosing high fiber foods like whole grain bread, pasta, and cereal will make you feel fully satisfied longer. High fiber foods are highly recommended for diabetics as they are good sources of natural blood sugar control.
3. Whatever diet you choose with low calories to suit your condition, eating smaller portions is another obvious secret to prevent excess sugar to have steep rise after consuming food. Even if you have craving for a candy bar, there is no harm in consuming a piece of the candy bar for taste.
4. Fruits are delicious with plenty of vitamins and nutrients. Most of the fruits are anti-oxidants potent to control blood sugar in the blood stream. But the salient feature of the fruits is the 'wholeness with nuts'. Making juices cannot serve your purpose to lower blood sugar. Grinding to juice form and adding artificial sweeteners spoil health values for diabetes control. Apples, pears, red grapes, and pomegranates are good fruits for diabetics. Eating an apple daily can help a diabetic to keep you off from visiting a doctor for diabetes treatment. It's true!
5. Regarding diet for blood sugar control, you should eat more green and leafy vegetables. Keeping the plate on the dining table with more vegetables and less white bread or rice is wise to manage diabetes. You will have the maximum benefits if you consume boiled foods rather than fried ones.
6. Drinking more water to your need should not be skipped over. You can have low fat milk or even black tea. Ice-creams are in no way good for diabetics. Soft drinks are geared with mild chemicals to make you feel satisfied but they don't have nutritional benefits. So, it's better you avoid soft drinks.
