Then as she begins to associate the warning signs with her approaching menstrual period, she will be able to cope more successfully with her irregular periods.

Even if your daughter's menstrual periods never become regular over time, she can still take control of her menstrual cycle. Encourage your daughter to always be prepared in case her period begins unexpectedly by packing feminine hygiene products and extra underwear. Drawing her attention to her body's unique warning signs will also buy some time so that she is prepared for when her period begins unexpectedly.
