Copper Wires And Their Users
There are a host of uses to which the copper wire is put
. In fact it would not be an overstatement to say that it is the most important commercial metal. It is not a surprise that many companies depend on it for running their economy. Its use in electrical and electronic equipments give it a significance that is unmatched by any other metal. The manufacturing process of copper wires is modified to suit the requirements of various clients. The various types of copper wires are copper strip, tin coated copper wire, PVC wires and cables, braided copper wires, braided flexible connectors or jumpers and tinsel copper wire.
All of these are different from each other and they are made so to serve the purpose of specifically fitting to that area of work. The tin coated copper wire is used for overhead electrical transmission, buses, cranes, industrial machines, heaters, high temperature gadgets and several other instruments which need the tin coating of copper wires. The tin coating is done in two stages of annealing followed by hot dip or electroplating.
Another variety of copper wire is the braided copper wire. It finds use in electrical appliances, storage batteries and electric stove. It is usually customized to meet the specific demand of each customer. Braided copper wire is manufactured by using flexible copper wire which is a very good quality round wire.
The braided copper wires used as flexible connectors, jumpers, etc. is used in locomotives, railways, control panels, relay switches, power meter connector of electronic items, turbine connectors, transformers, electronic works, etc. Only the purest form of copper is used for manufacturing braided flexible connectors. These connectors deliver the most efficient electrical power at reduced resistance. It also helps to curtail the effects of vibration and work as thermostat for normalizing the effect of contraction and expansion in buses.
Tinsel copper wire is an electrical wire used when maximum flexibility is needed. The receivers of telephone handsets need this form of wire. It is resistant to what is called metal fatigue because of its durability. This is so because it is made from very thin foils of copper wound round a textile core.
You can understand how significant a role these copper wires play in our lives from its uses described above. As if so much was not important enough, copper is also used for ornamental and health purposes.
