. Their main function is to participate in various programs intended to promote the particular university and to maintain contacts between the university and its alumni. Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN) The Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network is the organization which members are about 7,000 volunteers. It is a large association and is subdivided into 300 committees in the United States of America and other countries around the world. Its primary aim is to identify and attract students whose academic success and personal abilities represent a good chance for success in life. Interests of those students should convey the variety of academic programs at Cornell. CAAAN searches for students with outstanding personal qualities whose achievement in extracurricular activities could help to improve the level of life at Cornell. One more interesting fact is that the association reputation is built on the fact that this organization is tolerant to all its members regardless their geographic areas, their socio-economic backgrounds, and racial/ethnic groups. Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN) Goals CAAAN members can take part in a various activities created to meet the following goals: 1. Encourage interesting students who have particular academic qualification to regard Cornell as an excellent variant to continue their education. 2. To develop and maintain relationships between local secondary schools. This goal is possible with the help of counselors or college advisors. The work of community agencies that cooperate with underrepresented minority students is also useful and helpful. 3.
